Senior Quantity SurveyorLocation: CambridgeSalary: Up to £80,000 plus car or allowance, 25 days holiday, bank holidays and hybrid workingOverview A leading main contractor is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its Cambridge team. The business delivers major education and public-sector projects and maintains a strong regional presence with a consistent pipeline of work.The Senior Quantity Surveyor will take commercial lead on 2 new build DfE school projects located near Ipswich, Suffolk. The position suits candidates living in Cambridge and surrounding areas who want long-term stability and involvement in major schemes.
The role is largely site based and involves full commercial responsibility for projects valued between £30 million and £40 million.Key Responsibilities Lead the commercial function on major education projects valued at £30 million to £40 millionManage procurement, subcontractor packages, valuations and reportingOversee change control, forecasting and commercial risk managementSupport pre-construction activity on 2-stage tendersMaintain accurate financial control throughout the project lifecycleBuild strong working relationships with clients, consultants and the supply chainEnsure compliance with internal procedures and framework requirementsThe Right Person Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial ManagementProven experience leading multi-million-pound DfE school schemesCapable of taking full commercial responsibility for £30 million to £40 million education projectsStrong understanding of JCT contracts and 2-stage procurementConfident managing subcontractors, reporting, forecasting and final accountsAble to work effectively within a collaborative project teamFull UK driving licence and willingness to be site based across Cambridge, Suffolk and EssexWhats on Offer Up to £80,000Car or car allowance25 days holiday plus bank holidaysHybrid workingStrong pipeline of education and public-sector schemesSupportive regional team with clear progression opportunitiesTPBN1_UKTJ
