Job - Catering Supervisor
Site - Brentwood Community Hospital
Main Duties
To provide and maintain high catering and food production standards within the hospital premises. Responsible for the supervision and smooth running of the Catering Department, whilst ensuring quality control measures are implemented and maintained.
Supervise food production, preparation and delivery process of meals
Ensure high quality control measures associated with presentation of meals
Supervise staff provision, staff rotas and staff cover
What we are looking for
1. Communication &
Provide and receive routine information, to inform work colleagues, patients, clients Communicates with staff regarding staff rotas, following health and safety and catering procedures, and menus
2. Knowledge, Training & Experience
Small number of routine work procedures, on the job training Food production knowledge acquired through catering qualifications such as Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, plus supervisory experience
3. Analytical & Judgemental Skills
Judgements involving straightforward facts or situations Decisions based on change of menus and staff allocation
4. Planning & Organisational Skills
Organise straightforward tasks and own day to day work tasks or activities Plans staff allocation, food production and delivery
5. Physical Skills
Physical skills obtained through practice Manoeuvres food trolleys, food presentation, use of kitchen equipment
6. Responsibility for Patient/Client Care
Assist patient/clients during incidental contacts Provides food information to patients. Deals with patient and client complaints regarding the quality and service of food
7. Responsibility for Policy/Service Development
Implements policies in own role Implements and supports policy development for catering services, ensures that other staff members adhere to organisational policies and legal requirements
8. Responsibility for Financial & Physical Resources Personal duty of care in relation to equipment, resources Handles cash till. Duty of care required towards catering and kitchen equipment
