Job Description
City of York Council is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our housing team, committed to providing and supporting healthy and sustainable housing in York.
Within the energy efficiency team, part of the Healthy and Sustainable Homes service, the successful candidate will administer and deliver energy efficiency and retrofit projects in York.
The role involves developing, marketing, and managing contracts for energy efficiency advice and retrofit measures in domestic homes, aiming to reduce fuel poverty and carbon emissions, contributing to the Council's goal of becoming a net-zero carbon city by 2030.
The position requires liaising with contractors, residents, Council colleagues, government agencies, and partners, acting as the single point of contact for project delivery. Responsibilities include addressing complaints or issues related to contracts, and escalating concerns involving local politicians or potential adverse publicity to the Healthy and Sustainable Homes Manager.
Requirements
* A proactive attitude to problem-solving and the ability to react quickly.
* Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational skills and record-keeping abilities.
* Good IT skills.
* Full driving license and DBS check, as visiting properties is required.
Additional Information
Two positions are available: one full-time (37 hours/week) on a fixed-term contract until 30 November 2025, and one part-time (0.8 FTE or 29.6 hours/week) permanent role. Internal candidates interested in a secondment should discuss with their line manager prior to applying.
Hybrid working arrangements are available, with contractual location at the designated council office. The role involves a basic Criminal Record check.
