Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support one of our specialist educational settings in the WR11 area. This provision supports children and young people aged 2–19 with a wide range of complex needs, including Autism (ASD), SEMH, ADHD, communication needs, PMLD, SLD and physical or sensory difficulties.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, regulate their emotions and build communication, independence and social skills.

You will work alongside teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to deliver personalised support, contributing to a consistent, caring and structured environment where every child feels safe, understood and able to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide tailored 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with ASD, SEMH, ADHD, communication needs and complex learning profiles.
* Implement strategies from EHCPs, behaviour plans and personalised programmes to support emotional regulation, learning and engagement.
* Use communication tools and sensory‑based approaches to help pupils understand routines, express themselves and develop coping strategies.
* Support participation in enriching experiences such as outdoor learning, life‑skills activities, sensory work and community visits.

* Build positive, trusting relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued and confident.
* Encourage independence, resilience and curiosity through consistent routines and supportive guidance.
* Work collaboratively with families and professionals to ensure holistic, joined‑up care.

Requirements

* Willing to complete a DBS check or able to provide a recent updated certificate
* Able to provide two references
* Proof of right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
