Your new role
As an Actuarial Analyst with us, you won’t just crunch numbers—you’ll be an essential part of a fast‑paced, evolving team that supports the entire Insurance Division. You’ll dive into a diverse range of classes, from Property and Casualty to Financial Lines, Marine, and Energy, across both Lloyd’s and Company business. If you’re ready to tackle challenges and drive strategic insights, this is the role for you.
Main responsibilities
* Dive into the full business planning process for key business lines, using a mix of actuarial techniques to calculate loss ratios and uncover insights
* Contribute to strategic profitability analysis and reviews, getting a deep understanding of what drives performance across the board
* Lead scenario testing and create “what‑if” analysis for portfolios that are growing or undergoing changes
* Conduct claims inflation reviews and use data to spot trends and make recommendations
* Help with DUA and broker profitability reviews, bringing fresh insights to the table
* Get involved in case pricing – while not the main focus of the team, there’s an opportunity for hands‑on pricing experience across all lines using both deterministic and stochastic techniques
About You
We’re looking for someone who’s currently working through their actuarial exams and has a passion for data and tools like Python, Power BI, and SQL. If you’re a curious, detail‑oriented problem solver who loves learning and collaborating with others, we want to hear from you!
Skills you’ll need
* Some commercial experience in an actuarial role (e.g., pricing or reserving in General Insurance or Personal Lines)
* Analytical skills and a love for working with data
* Solid Excel abilities, with a knack for spotting trends and summarising data
* SQL experience is a plus—comfortable working with large data sets
* A collaborative, flexible mindset and a self‑starter who’s eager to learn and grow
