Overview
We are looking for an apprentice to start a career as a Laboratory Research Technician within the University of Leeds. The apprentice will provide support to the School of Chemical and Process Engineering and the suite of materials and nuclear labs in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences apprenticeship scheme. There is potential to progress into a permanent role on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
* Provide support to the School of Chemical and Process Engineering and the materials and nuclear labs.
* Participate in laboratory activities and training as part of the Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship.
* Be mentored by a senior technician and develop skills across disciplines related to working in a lab environment.
Qualifications and requirements
* Aptitude for science and laboratory work.
* Enrolment in a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship with Leeds City College, with day release one day per week.
* Good communication and teamwork abilities.
