This position is offered on a fully remote basis, with travel primarily focused across the Midlands and South of England, with occasional requirements for wider UK travel depending on operational needs.</p><p>This is a pivotal role within the business, reporting into senior leadership and responsible for leading the company’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality agenda across a varied project portfolio. As the company continues to grow and diversify its operations, this role offers strong long-term prospects and genuine autonomy for an individual looking to make their mark in a forward-thinking environment.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide strategic and operational leadership across all SHEQ functions, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, industry standards, and internal policies.</li><li>Develop, implement and maintain SHEQ management systems in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.</li><li>Lead site audits and inspections, producing detailed reports and action plans to drive continuous improvement.</li><li>Support operational teams across multiple construction sites to maintain high standards of health and safety, environmental compliance, and quality assurance.</li><li>Deliver SHEQ training, inductions, and toolbox talks to site staff and subcontractors where required.</li><li>Investigate incidents and near misses, carrying out root cause analysis and promoting lessons learned throughout the business.</li><li>Act as the main point of contact for SHEQ matters across all live and upcoming projects, providing expert guidance and hands‑on support.</li><li>Keep abreast of legislative changes and ensure timely updates are reflected in company procedures and policies.</li><li>Drive a proactive, behavioural safety culture across all levels of the business.</li></ul><h3>Candidate Profile</h3><ul><li>Proven experience in a SHEQ management role, ideally within construction or a related built environment sector.</li><li>NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential.</li><li>Membership of IOSH (TechIOSH or higher) – essential.</li><li>Working knowledge of ISO standards including 9001, 14001 and 45001 – essential.</li><li>Strong auditing experience and a practical approach to problem‑solving.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.</li><li>Comfortable working remotely and managing travel across a geographically dispersed project base.</li><li>Full UK driving licence – essential.</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>Competitive salary: £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience</li><li>Company car or car allowance</li><li>Generous annual leave entitlement</li><li>Company pension scheme</li><li>Full remote working with flexible autonomy</li></ul></div>
