Duties of the MET Technician include:
9. Removing damaged parts to facilitate repairs
10. Safely storing displaced parts for refitting
11. Diagnosing additional damage and liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor
12. Ordering and checking parts for accuracy and completeness
13. Reinstalling repaired components with care to avoid damage to painted panels and ensuring panel gaps meet manufacturer tolerances
14. Replacing mechanical components of steering, drivetrain, and engine as required
15. Resetting vehicle control units using diagnostic equipment
16. Following all health and safety legislation and internal procedures
17. Attending regular safety training sessions
18. Maintaining tools, equipment, and materials to high standards
Candidate requirements for the MET Technician role:
19. Proven experience as an MET Technician within a reputable bodyshop or accident repair workshop
20. Qualifications in welding and auto electrics are desirable
21. Knowledge of diagnostic and resetting vehicle control units
22. Attention to detail and a team-focused attitude
23. Ability to work efficiently and to high standards
