About the Child Psychologist Role:
As a Child Psychologist, you will carry out targeted assessments and deliver structured interventions to support pupils' cognitive, behavioural, and emotional development. You will operate with clear frameworks, maintain firm professional boundaries, and ensure consistent, outcome-driven practice.
Key Responsibilities as a Child Psychologist:
Psychological Assessment: Conduct structured assessments to identify needs and inform intervention strategies.
Intervention Delivery: Implement targeted, evidence-based approaches to improve behaviour and engagement.
Behaviour & Regulation: Apply clear psychological strategies to support control, focus, and self-regulation.
Progress Monitoring: Track outcomes, analyse data, and report findings with accuracy.
Professional Coordination: Work efficiently with SEN staff, leadership, and external professionals.To succeed as a Child Psychologist, you will need:
Relevant qualifications in psychology and experience working with children or young people.
A strong presence with clear, direct communication.
Confidence applying structured psychological frameworks in educational settings.
An analytical, organised, and outcome-focused approach.
Experience within SEN, SEMH, or similar environments (desirable).
