Position:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Support Worker based at Auchinleck Health Centre.

Hours:

From 1 April 2026, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change staff in Scotland will be reduced. Full-time hours will reduce from 37 to 36 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.

25.53 hours per week over 5 days, Mon – Fri, no weekend commitment at present however this may change in future (Contract will be Mon – Sun).

UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:

A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role. Pool car will be available some days of working but not every day.

What you will do:

Health Care Support Worker (HCSW) works collaboratively in a safe, caring and respectful way as part of the multidisciplinary team carrying out a wide range of clinical care tasks and delegated duties, often without direct supervision from senior staff.

In partnership with the Registered Nurse the HCSW will review the patient’s individual care plan and will competently perform the necessary aspects of care, within their scope of clinical practise, for the patient as per the individual care plan to ensure delivery of a high standard, recording care delivery and reporting back to the Registered Nurse. The post holder requires a base level of theoretical knowledge and an understanding of a range of procedures, be educated to SVQ level 2/3 or relevant experience

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to work on your own initiative as a lone worker working within a variety of settings within the community. You should be able to provide evidence of personal development and a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
