ABL Health, delivers Adult Weight Management Service overview, which is commissioned by Dudley Council. This transformative service seeks to work collaboratively with communities to support transforming services for the local population. The service provides integrated behaviour support for weight management in partnership with Sandwell’s smoking cessation service. Both services are embedded in sustainable behaviour change and positive wellbeing.
You will deliver our existing programmes of weight management as well as support the development of programmes that meet the needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and delivering client-centred motivational change. You will have a background in nutrition, exercise, health improvement, adult and/or family weight management and be an excellent team player and have a willingness to learn and develop.
At ABL Health, we don’t believe in diets but promote long-term sustainable change, focusing on evidence-based healthy living principles.
Some of the essential criteria for the role:
* Educated to degree level or relevant equivalent experience.
* Experience of working with Adults or Children and Young People and facilitating 1:1 and group workshops in an age-appropriate and engaging manner
* CIMSPA (previously REPS) qualified Level 2 Gym instructor/Group exercise award or equivalent
* Experience working with hard to reach groups and tackling health inequalities.
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
* IT literate, preferably with experience using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Pro-active approach and ability to work on own initiative.
* Ability to manage stressful situations and cope in a fast-paced work environment.
* The ability to travel independently across Dudley.
* Work flexibly and adapt to suit service need including evening and occasional weekend work as required.
