Job Description

New Directions Education are currently recruiting for Trainee Teaching Assistants to work in a welcoming and inclusive SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) school in Liverpool. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with excellent potential for development and permanent employment for the right candidates.

The School:

1. A supportive and specialist SEND setting that caters to children and young people with a range of additional needs, including autism, learning difficulties, and complex behavioural needs
2. Known for its nurturing environment, dedicated staff, and strong focus on pupil wellbeing and progress
3. Offers tailored learning approaches, high staff-to-student ratios, and a collaborative team ethos that values every member of staff

The Role:

4. Full-time Trainee Teaching Assistant position supporting pupils with special educational needs in both group and one-to-one settings
5. Assist with classroom routines, learning activities, and the delivery of personalised support plans under the guidance of experienced teachers and support staff
6. Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child is encouraged to thrive
7. No previous school-based experience is required – full online training and support will be provided prior to placement

The Ideal Teaching Assistant:

8. Individuals from a care, coaching, social care, nursery, childcare, or psychology background are highly encouraged to apply
9. Be willing to provide employment references in the last 5 years
10. Must be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and register with the Update Service if not already done so
