Trading Standards – Business Readiness Project (Renters Rights) WCR 3 Max
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive professional to join our Trading Standards team, focusing on the Business Readiness Project for Renters Rights. Key Objectives
* Lead and coordinate activities to prepare businesses for new renters rights legislation.
* Develop and deliver clear communication and training materials to stakeholders.
* Ensure effective collaboration between Trading Standards and partner organisations.
* Monitor progress and provide regular updates to senior management on project status.
* Support enforcement activities by identifying risks and advising on compliance.
Main Responsibilities
* Manage and implement the Business Readiness Project plan related to renters rights.
* Engage with landlords, letting agents, and businesses to provide guidance and support.
* Develop training sessions, workshops, and informational resources tailored to diverse audiences.
* Conduct risk assessments and identify areas requiring targeted intervention.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to share best practices and intelligence.
* Track and report on project milestones, outcomes, and compliance levels.
* Stay informed on legislative developments and advise the team accordingly.
Requirements
* Proven experience in Trading Standards, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
* Strong understanding of renters rights legislation and its practical implications.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Ability to manage projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines effectively.
* Confident in delivering presentations and training to varied audiences.
* Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem‑solving abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
* Relevant professional qualification in Trading Standards, Consumer Protection, or equivalent.
* Experience in project management or business readiness initiatives is desirable.
* Full driving licence may be required due to travel between sites.
