Job Overview PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY ACCEPT APPLICATIONS FROM STAFF CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY BETSI CADWALADR UNIVERSITY HEALTH BOARD This post is Fixed term/Secondment for 12 months to cover maternity leave. Main duties of the job The post holder will assist registered nurses/practitioner in the provision of delegated care of patients. The post holder will endeavour to provide for the holistic needs of the individual, in conjunction with other disciplines within the health care environment. The post holder will undertake a broad range of duties and will be expected to work independently and as part of the team, supervising patients and assisting them with future care plan. The post holder will also be required to offer assistance in induction of junior healthcare workers and apprenticeships. The post holder will be able to deliver elements of health and social care by having the knowledge and assessed level of competence to undertake such a role which will be locally assessed. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or equivalent experience Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW) Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting Ability to be able to complete certified/accredited physical intervention training, for example Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA during induction) Desirable criteria Certified/accredited physical intervention training, for example Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) Experience Essential criteria Experience of working within a relevant health or social care environment, providing direct patient care Desirable criteria Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice Experience of working within the NHS Skills Essential criteria Good Communication Skills Ability to work with minimum supervision to a high standard Ability to keep calm in stressful situations Ability to demonstrate a caring and compassionate approach Organisational skills Ability to use technology to undertake the role, for example Microsoft Office, virtual platforms such as Teams Physically able to carry out the duties of the role, including lifting, assisting with mobility, implementing restraint (if required) and performing other manual tasks Desirable criteria Welsh Language Skills levels 1 to 5 in understanding, speaking, reading and writing in Welsh Other Essential criteria Enhanced DBS clearance including Adults and Children's Barred List check
