The Medical and Scientific Liaison Manager is responsible for executing the field medical affairs strategy, objectives, and activities for the relevant therapy area. Reporting to the Medical Head, this manager role partners with commercial and R&D to deliver the overarching strategy for the medicine/therapy area in the UK. The role involves leading the MSL team to meet medical objectives, working closely with external experts and internal stakeholders to design and deliver medical activities supporting the therapy area.

In this role you will
* Lead, coach, and manage the MSL team to deliver the medical plan using UNICORN metrics.
* Develop MSL capabilities in external engagement, utilizing the MSL handbook.
* Manage operational excellence in field activities and medical objectives.
* Contribute to strategic medical planning, incorporating omni-channel strategies.
* Translate insights into actions to meet medical needs in the UK.
* Partner with brand initiatives and global medical/R&D teams.
* Advise on medical and ethical matters, ensuring compliance with GSK standards.
* Provide input into NICE health technology appraisals and market access strategies.
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of the therapy area, medicines, and UK governance (ABPI/MHRA).
* Manage resources and capacity of the field team in collaboration with the Medical Head.
* Lead performance reviews, ensuring insights and operational measures are shared.
* Build partnerships with external experts, patient groups, and professional societies.
* Set objectives and development plans for the field team, providing coaching support.
* Oversee investigator-led studies and medical supply requests.
* Develop partnerships for clinical studies and medical input into development plans.
* Implement external engagement strategies, including with professional bodies and experts.
* Identify opportunities for involvement in activities supporting patients and the NHS.
* Co-create the UK Congress Plan with medical functions.
* Represent GSK UK at scientific and public events.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications & Skills:
* BSc or related degree in life sciences.
* Management experience leading a team, with coaching responsibilities.
* Significant experience in a field-based medical affairs environment.
* Knowledge of ABPI and MHRA regulations related to field medical activities.
* Proven ability to build relationships with NHS and health providers.
* Strong communication and leadership skills, with ability to turn insights into actions.
* Proactive, strategic, organized, and goal-oriented.
* Experience with omni-channel engagement plans.
* Understanding of UK healthcare environment, HTA, and market access challenges.
