Clinical Engineer - Associate Practitioner

Medical equipment is used for medical treatment and diagnosis of patients in all areas of a hospital and beyond. Having fully functional and accurate medical equipment is essential for the safe diagnosis and treatment of patients, and it is the Medical Equipment Management service that is responsible for that equipment. The Medical Equipment Management service is a team of highly trained clinical engineer technologists who are experts on medical equipment. We work across ten hospital sites in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, managing the full life cycle of over 55,000 medical equipment devices, completing over 50,000 jobs per year.
Responsibilities
You will work as part of a team of clinical engineer technologists based in the Vale of Leven Hospital. You will have a permanent contract with a 37-hour working week that is Monday to Friday. You may be called to the medical assessment unit to help with an equipment failure, commission new medical equipment, or perform planned maintenance in an out-patient clinic. You will receive competency-based training on a range of low-risk and non-complex medical equipment, enabling you to commission, calibrate, performance assure and repair that equipment.

* Engineering or Technology knowledge to SCQF Level 8
* Knowledge of electrical, electronic and general engineering principles
* Experience of the service, repair and fault finding of electronic or electrical systems
* Good organisational and communication skills
