Petrofac is seeking a Structural Designer 2 - Contractor for 12 months based in Aberdeen, UK.
The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.
The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.
Scope of Services
* Provide technical expertise for the structural design of new infrastructure and modifications to existing infrastructure for the energy sector.
* Provide technical information to support estimates for project work scopes.
* Provide input to progress and planning meetings as required.
* Provide technical expertise to the resolution of technical queries ensuring all design changes are captured by the change control process.
* Conduct site surveys on offshore or onshore assets.
* Produce structural design drawings / 3d models, etc.
* Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews / HAZIDS.
* Provide checking and approval of structural drawings, complete interdisciplinary checking of documents where necessary.
* Interface with other disciplines, clients and third parties on technical project issues.
* Provide a level of technical support that satisfies the appropriate Asset Safety Case and that PFEER performance standards are not compromised by any discipline engineering activities.
* Compliance with company engineering procedures, industry, international and client codes and standards.
* Ensure that all work complies with the Contract Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures as appropriate.
* Provide technical assurance and oversight on structural design scope.
* Coordinate structural design resource in line with project requirement.

Skills / Experience
* Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications and relevant discipline specific software
* AutoCAD 2D & 3D
* PDMS
* LFM
* Recap Pro
* Simulate)
* Ability to investigate and interpret data
* Willing to travel offshore/site and capable of completing site surveys
* Brownfield Project Experience desirable.
* Experience within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry will be preferable but not essential.
* Suitable design experience within other engineering industries will be considered where appropriate.
