Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Liaison Nurse at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
As a registered Mental Health Nurse, on Part 3 of the NMC Register, you will support the provision of a comprehensive Elderly Mental Health Liaison Service in General Hospitals for people with dementia of any age and people with other mental health problems over the age of 65 years. You will be responsible for providing a person centred approach to care-giving with the ability to work on own, with supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team being essential.
You will be an integral member of the Elderly Mental Health Liaison Team providing mental health assessment, expert mental health nursing advice, information and guidance to General Hospital staff, patients and carers.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
You should be motivated and keen to further develop knowledge and skills within a liaison setting. Mental Health assessment skills of the Older Adult are desirable. The passion to work within the Elderly Mental Health setting is essential.
You will be educated to degree level or have a relevant post graduate qualification and experience relevant to job purpose.
