Key Responsibilities
* Formulate clinical decisions and patient‑specific care plans to manage acute and chronic illness as well as acute radiotherapy toxicity.
* Support patients identified by holistic needs assessment, initiating supportive interventions, and referring to members of the multidisciplinary team as appropriate.
* Exercise advanced clinical expertise, levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care.
* Be involved in the development and review of care protocols and training for staff within this area of specialism.
* Support the Breast Advanced Clinical Practitioners across the breast pathway.
* Audit and monitor standards of patient care, using results to influence practice, thereby continually improving evidence‑based practice and delivery of patient‑focused care.
* Demonstrate highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in the management of radiotherapy treatment‑related toxicity.
* Work autonomously or in collaboration with Advanced Clinical Practitioners, medical and nursing colleagues to ensure patients are fully informed regarding their proposed management plan, provide appropriate information and support.
* Liaise with relevant colleagues to ensure a seamless service for the patient.
* Undertake clinical review of patients who are receiving or have received radiotherapy.
