The Role
* To create a warm and welcoming environment
* An ability to use own initiative and share ideas and information
* A willingness to learn skills in identifying and meeting the children's needs individually and within a group.
* A willingness to learn skills in observation and tracking children's development through Learning Journals.
* Learn good knowledge and understanding of current documents and resources used and how to put the document into practise.
* The ability to work within a team, maintaining positive relationships and developing productive teamwork.
* Listen to advice/constructive criticism from peers/management and act upon it.
* An awareness of Health and Safety within the nursery and ability to report any hazards for the purpose of risk assessments
* Be supportive and diplomatic in your approach towards parents and children.
* To have and show commitment to Little Stars Nurseries policies and Procedures
* To attend occasional staff meetings outside of working hours (time for this will be compensated)
* A willingness to continue with training to aid both the nursery and your own personal development
* To ensure the wellbeing of all children and their development by providing stimulating, rich learning experiences
* To work as part of a Team alongside your colleagues
Skills And Qualifications
* Possess a HNC or SVQ III in Childcare and Education or equivalent. You must be registered or gain your registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
* Knowledge and understanding of:
* The individual development needs of young children
* The central role of parents / carers in the lives of young children and respect this role.
* Local and National guidelines, Curriculum, childcare provision and procedures.
