About the Role
You will be supporting editors and authors optimize overall publishing success and work on cross-journal projects and initiatives for Cell Press. This is a full time role, and the preferred locations are the UK or Amsterdam.
Responsibilities
1. Assessing submissions and overseeing the peer review and editorial process;
2. Working collaboratively with Cell Press editors on handling of Multi-Journal Submission manuscripts;
3. Supporting authors through the process of peer review;
4. Establishing relationships with researchers who are publishing with our journals;
5. Building effective working relationships with colleagues across Cell Press and beyond;
6. Contributing to broader Cell Press initiatives to shape the future of science communication.
Requirements
7. A Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or clinical discipline (life or medical sciences);
8. Ability to think critically about a wide range of scientific issues;
9. Solid communication skills;
10. Great teamworking skills and a collaborative problem-solving mindset;
11. Interest in engaging with the scientific community;
12. Talent for distilling complex concepts and communicating them;
13. Ability to work successfully in a diverse global team;
14. Interest in digital communication and publishing trends.
