The Role: Complex Care Support Worker
Hourly Rate: £13.50 per hour.
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire, S7.
Shift Pattern: Night shifts: 10pm - 8am.
Contract Type: Permanent with immediate start available. Full time – 40-hour contract.
DBS: An up-to-date DBS check is required (we can apply on your behalf if you don’t already have one).
Driver with access to a vehicle: Preferred.
Right to Work: The company is unable to sponsor the employment of international workers in this role. You will be required to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.
About the Service user: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Caregiver / Complex Care Support Worker to provide dedicated care to a 17‑year‑old boy with an acquired brain injury and severe epileptic seizures. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex epilepsy care and a deep understanding of the medical and personal care needs of children and young adults with neurological conditions. Experience in a hospital background is desired.
The Role at Josh’s Care Company
* Epilepsy Management: Administer epilepsy medication as prescribed and monitor for seizures throughout the night. Knowledge of complex epilepsy care and ability to respond effectively during a seizure is essential.
* Medical Support: Provide suctioning as needed and assist with PEG feeding for medication and nutrition. Maintain the proper operation of medical equipment and ensure the client’s health and safety.
* Personal Care: Assist with personal care needs, in a respectful and dignified manner.
* Monitoring: Remain attentive throughout the night, ensuring the client’s comfort and well‑being at all times.
* Communication: Maintain clear and accurate records of the client’s health and report any changes to the family and healthcare team. Ensure there is engagement and stimulation with the client.
About You
* Experience: Experience in providing care for individuals with complex medical needs, especially those with epilepsy, PEG feeding and brain injuries.
* Skills: Knowledge of epilepsy management, including seizure protocols and the safe administration of medication.
* Compassion: A caring and patient approach with the ability to build a trusting relationship with the client and family.
* Personal Care: Ability to assist with personal care tasks in a respectful and sensitive manner.
* Flexibility: Willingness to work nights and adapt to the client’s changing care needs.
Training
* We are dedicated to equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary to become compliant in all areas of specialised care, from tracheostomy and ventilator management to postural and respiratory care, as well as PEG feeding.

* A current DBS if possible (paper or update service).
* A driving license (Preferred).
