Job Title Locum Clinical Lead – Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) Pathway Banding Band 8a/ 8b equivalent Location Humberside (primarily Hull, with travel across the region to Crown and Magistrates Courts) Working Hours Approx. 30 hours per week | Flexible days (2–3 days per week possible) Salary Competitive hourly/daily rate We are looking for an experienced Locum Clinical Lead to join the Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) team in Humberside. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with courts, probation, and Liaison & Diversion services to provide psychological interventions as an alternative to custody. Based mainly in Hull with travel across the region, you’ll play a key role in reducing reoffending and improving mental health outcomes for first-time and low-level offenders. Responsibilities In this role, you will : Assess individuals in court and make recommendations for ongoing treatment under the MHTR pathway. Deliver brief psychological interventions for mental health difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, and trauma-related issues. Work with a complex population, including those with trauma histories, neurodevelopmental conditions, and personality disorders. Collaborate with Liaison & Diversion and Reconnect teams, as well as probation and court professionals. Provide clinical leadership and support to ensure effective delivery of interventions across various bases in the region and online. Qualifications and Experience We welcome applicants who meet most of the following criteria: HCPC-registered Psychologist (Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic) or equivalent senior mental health professional. Experience in adult mental health and/or forensic settings. Ability to deliver psychological therapy and clinical interventions (not just assessments). Court experience desirable but not essential.
