RE/Sociology Teacher – Oldham
A dedicated and passionate RE/Sociology Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in Oldham, to join them on a full-time basis, teaching key stage 3 & 4 from ASAP, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.
This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced Oldham teachers.
You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents’ evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. This school teaches GCSE and has a key focus on build knowledge throughout KS3 and KS4. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL.
The school has ‘Good’ Behaviour and attitudes, Personal development and Leadership and management. Pupils, including students in the sixth form, are proud to attend this welcoming school, as they feel part of a community where everyone is respected. Pupils understand that leaders expect them to work hard and be kind, and the students rise to this standard and conduct themselves well. Poor behaviour rarely disrupts learning, leading to focus in lessons. Senior leaders are in the process of finalising the curriculum so that pupils and students learn and remember more. In many subjects, leaders have thought carefully about the most important knowledge that pupils in key stages 3 and 4 need to learn.

Hours – possibly Monday to Wednesday’s (8:20 to 3pm) these days may be subject to change
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree educated with a good classification.
Secondary QTS
Previous experience working with young people
Experience of teaching in a Secondary School
Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)
Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)
Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Hold Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of £
Provide a minimum of two professional references.
