This is a site-based role, and you will need a car to get to the site. You will have practical experience in site work on civils schemes with either a main contractor or a subcontractor. Since you will need to operate with minimal supervision it is likely that you will have 3-4 years site experience to be able to carry out the duties. Knowledge of Highways, Drainage, Embankments, 278 works setting out, will all be evident in your experience to date. You must be able to work with the installation and sub-contracting gangs when advising on correct construction methods and installation. Communication must be good in both written and oral situations. You must be IT literate with a good grasp of survey equipment, both essential for the role. CSCS certification is essential.
