Our client, a leading systematic hedge fund based in London, is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join their team. In this role, you will be part of the Network Engineering function, supporting large-scale routing infrastructure and partnering closely with operations, systems engineering, and automation teams to ensure resilient, high‑performance connectivity across global trading environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in Multi‑Protocol Label Switching (MPLS), deep knowledge of BGP (EVPN, VPNv4, IPv4), and hands‑on experience with at least one major routing platform. You should be confident troubleshooting and optimising large‑scale WAN environments to maintain exceptional availability and performance, and be capable of designing, implementing, and supporting multicast services using MVPN. Responsibilities Design, implement, and troubleshoot multicast services leveraging technologies such as MVPN. Analyse and validate MPLS label operations and end‑to‑end forwarding behaviour. Support TCP/IP‑based services and traffic flows across a multi‑site global network. Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation, including design artefacts and operational procedures. Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues requiring deep technical investigation. Requirements Strong experience with MPLS, MPLS forwarding, and label distribution. Hands‑on expertise in multicast and MVPN. Deep understanding of BGP, including EVPN, VPNv4, and IPv4. Network automation experience (Python preferred). Background working in environments with strict availability, reliability, and performance requirements. Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, QoS, routing protocols, and traffic engineering principles.
