About The Role
Our sites are demanding, complex, and in some cases operate 24 hours a day. It's vital we have a strong Engineering team to ensure our machines work optimally, allowing us to provide great products to our customers efficiently. As a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing site. Your responsibilities include maintaining, repairing, and improving machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills and quick problem-solving abilities.
Shift Pattern
Mon-Thurs 18:00 - 02:30 and Fri 18:00 - 00:00
Responsibilities
* Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on production equipment, identifying potential issues early.
* Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnose problems, and perform repairs or coordinate external specialists.
* Carry out machine adjustments and changeovers to support production efficiency and minimize downtime.
* Monitor and calibrate equipment to meet accuracy, quality, and safety standards.
* Collaborate with production teams to identify process improvements and provide technical expertise.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts inventory.
* Follow health and safety guidelines and ensure compliance with company policies.
* Stay updated with industry advancements and relevant technologies.
About You
We are looking for someone who can work efficiently and has:
* Qualifications to NVQ level 3 or equivalent (e.g., ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering).
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems used in the FMCG industry.
* Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery such as conveyors, motors, pumps, and packaging equipment.
* A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to equipment reliability.
* Understanding of HACCP principles; IEE wiring regulations (17th edition) would be advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Assertiveness and decision-making skills.
* A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
