We’re on the lookout for a caring, committed Learning Support Assistant to join a secondary school in Ashington. This is a brilliant opportunity if you love supporting students who need an extra boost with their learning and confidence.
In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive team, helping pupils with special educational needs or those who just need a bit of extra help to engage with lessons and reach their potential.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Providing 1:1 and small group support in the classroom
2. Helping students with a range of learning needs to stay focused and engaged
3. Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to adapt activities and resources
4. Encouraging independence and building confidence
What we’re looking for:
5. A patient and empathetic approach – you’ll be someone pupils can rely on
6. Experience supporting children or young people (school-based or otherwise)
7. An understanding of SEN or a willingness to learn
8. Strong communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
