We are seeking a Production Machinist to operate both conventional manual and CNC centre lathes. The successful candidate will be required to produce a wide range of components from drawings, working to tight tolerances and surface finishes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing components efficiently and to a high standard Accurately recording final dimensions and surface finishes of all components Involvement of day-to-day workshop in relation to quality, H&S and environmental activities. Interpret engineering data and documentation such as engineering drawings, technical data and computer-generated programmes Work under minimum supervision, taking responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work you undertake Be pro-active in finding solutions to problems and identifying areas for improving the business Ensure standard work practices and procedures are being followed Make regular planned maintenance checks to ensure machinery is operating correctly
Experience required:
HNC Level in Manufacturing or similar engineering discipline Working knowledge of manual & CNC lathes Ability to work to instruction and on own initiative Selecting and using a range of measuring and testing equipment to check components are to the required quality and accuracy Able to read and interpret engineering data Able to demonstrate problem solving skills to solve and repair issues efficiently and effectively Experience of operating Fanuc control, 3-Axis Doosan Puma lathes with live tooling would be an advantage, but not essential
