Role Description
12-hour Day Shift (Blocks of 2s & 3s). To maintain the site assets to achieve optimum operational efficiency, statutory and customer compliance whilst complying with all H&S requirements.
Effective & efficient maintenance of the site’s assets from a mechanical, electrical or process perspective.
Execute work schedule, PPMs, breakdowns, capital and CI work streams.
Help the site achieve optimal operational efficiency at lowest cost through delivery of targets against the strategic objectives of the Group Supply Function: Safety, Cost, Delivery, Quality.
Work with the site Engineering, Team, Senior Leadership Team, Group Engineering and Projects Team to support the delivery of an agreed manufacturing vision and strategy.
Principal Responsibilities
* Ensure safety, quality, hygiene in all duties.
* Strict adherence to all H&S work policies such as Lock out and Tag, Permit to Work/Enter system.
* Carry out duties ensuring the site achieves required GMP standards.
* Ensure all work conforms to statutory & safety requirements.
* Ensure risk assessments are completed and actioned.
* Support a culture that enhances behavioural awareness to reduce accidents and near misses.
* Reduce customer complaints and wastage through effective maintenance and continuous improvement.
* Establish clear objectives and priorities with Area Coordinator.
* Record work (PPMs, breakdowns, repairs, modifications) and follow up until closure.
* Assist with training and support other departments in factory operations.
* Identify own training needs and plan with manager.
* Promote and comply with 5S, GMP, and other improvement tools.
* Review performance and implement opportunities for improvement.
* Communicate accurately via handovers, shift reporting, and status reports.
* Communicate with Engineering Stores to ensure spares availability.
Role Requirements
* Completed recognised and relevant engineering apprenticeship, preferably multi-skilled.
* Experience in FMCG manufacturing environment.
* PC literate.
* Experience using CMMS, preferably SAP.
* Experience in regulated environment using Permit to Work systems and dynamic risk assessments.
* Good working knowledge of problem solving techniques such as fault finding and root cause analysis.
* Ability to read & understand technical manuals and engineering drawings.
* Advanced diagnostic skills: mechanical, electrical, PLC, and process.
