Responsibilities

* Lead and direct PMO and Project Controls activities across cost, schedule, change, risk and reporting to achieve key objectives and escalate performance issues.
* Manage and direct clients, consultants, contractors and project teams on PMO and Project Controls matters; act as a trusted advisor to client organizations.
* Develop and maintain PMO and Project Controls frameworks/strategies and governance; oversee baseline development (scope, time, cost, risk, assumptions) and delivery performance, including contingency monitoring and quantitative risk analysis (cost and time).
* Lead periodic reporting and governance meetings; ensure alignment with client requirements and prevailing legislation.
* Provide line management and mentoring to junior PMO/Project Controls staff and promote personal development within the team.
* Support resourcing and recruitment for the assigned commission; contribute to hub-level PMO/Project Control decisions.
* Promote a net-zero carbon transition by identifying and managing associated emissions during delivery.

You’ll Need To Have

* Significant PMO and Project Controls leadership experience on major construction projects and management consultancy.
* Experience setting up PMO/Project Controls frameworks, strategies and assurance processes.
* Expert knowledge of PMO/Project Controls tools and software (e.g., MS Office, Power BI, Aconex, Primavera P6, RiskHive).
* Practical knowledge of risk interfaces and reporting tools (e.g., Primavera Risk Analyser, Active Risk Manager) and Power BI.
* Strong understanding of construction projects, lifecycle interfaces, and management consultancy; experience across multiple sectors (e.g. rail, highways, nuclear, public sector, hospitals).
* Leadership experience with large, diverse teams; strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Chartered status or equivalent and membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. APM).
* Commitment to continuous improvement, adaptability to changing priorities, and ability to work with diverse teams.


You’ll Also Have

* Membership of professional bodies (e.g., RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE) or equivalent demonstration of development; extensive delivery phase experience in the consultancy sector.
* Property or infrastructure project management expertise; strong commercial acumen.
* Ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders and experience workingclient-side as well as in consultancy.
* Knowledge of carbon sustainability considerations and opportunities for data analytics and intelligent reporting (Power BI and other tools).
* Relevant university degree (construction or engineering) or equivalent; continued professional development is encouraged.
