Your Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Site Operative Team Leader in Avonmouth, Bristol. The main purpose of this role is working and leading a small team the site operative role is multi-functional, and the Leader will be coordinating this resource. The main purpose is to control and manage the Grain Intake process working to documented procedures to maintain a high standard of health & safety, food safety, equipment operation, hygiene, and quality. Training and daily supervision of the team and working to improve the efficiencies of the silo area as a primary role.
Your Responsibilities
1. Perform all silo duties; from wheat intake; wheat transfer and out loading of products (Wheat feed). Learn the wheat testing routines within the TC lab.
2. Competence level of weighbridge operation and accurate stock control records, assisting in problem solving deviations on stocks.
3. Food safety traceability within the silo systems and the wider site to present documented findings in a timely manner.
4. Assist the Millers in the operation and control of the plant equipment, mill operating systems, screen room and finished product handling.
5. Ensure that the Master Sanitation Audit performance measures are met within the silo building, with the effective level of cleaning (liaison with Site Services Supervisor).
6. Sampling and analysis of raw materials, internal stocks and finished products, as required to produce the quality of products as required by the company.
7. Ensure that all work is performed with due diligence and in conformation of all current and future relevant legislation and company procedures.
8. Conduct Integrated Pest Management (IPM) in accordance with company procedures and standards, lead this for the silo area.
9. Assist the Millers and Process Technicians and conduct plant maintenance within the individuals’ skill base, to ensure that all plant is operating to its optimum.
10. Ensuring milling downtime is minimised to ensure optimum plant efficiency.
11. Training of the Site Operatives, from induction to competence levels then regular supervision and reviews.
12. Identifying improvement ideas and cost saving opportunities.
13. To build a strong personal development plan across departmental requirements to increase performance excellence across the site.
Your Profile:
14. Relevant formal qualifications in Safety & Health and HACCP level 3 in Food safety.
15. Work experience in a production environment.
16. Leadership experience.
17. Working towards the full UK Flour Millers Exams.
18. Good communication skills.
