The Group Head of Faculty is a key leadership role focused on driving teaching quality, raising standards, and ensuring student success across the college. Central to this role is the line management of a team of teachers across a range of subject specialisms, fostering a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement, and professional accountability. A critical requirement for this role is proven experience in leading and developing curriculum across a range of Construction Crafts provision, ensuring it remains current, industry-relevant, and impactful. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong leadership in managing and building effective teams, including all aspects of performance management. A commitment to staff development is essential, including championing best practice, formative assessment, and access to high-quality CPD.
Applicants must also bring a strong understanding and practical experience of budget and financial management, as the role involves oversight of departmental resources and financial planning. The position includes a teaching commitment of up to 50%, and applicants should hold QTS or QTLS, with experience of teaching and leading staff within technical or vocational education settings.
