About the Role
As a PLC Programming Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our Control & Instrumentation engineering team. Your mission? To safely deliver control system and PLC modifications and upgrades. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
* Lead plant improvement projects, delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
* Maintain and enhance existing control systems and PLCs, implementing the latest security measures against cyber-attacks.
* Challenge your technical ability, problem-solving, and communication skills while contributing to the delivery of flexible, renewable energy at Drax Power Station.
* Develop into a subject matter expert for cyber-security improvements in line with the latest NIS regulation and IEC62443 recommendations.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a passionate individual with:
* A minimum of an HND in Control & Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Software Engineering.
* Previous PLC programming experience in a technical role.
* Experience with configuring and programming Schneider PLCs (desirable).
* Knowledge of NIS regulation and IEC62443.
* Strong project management skills and a knack for delivering critical projects.
* A keen willingness to learn, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication skills across all levels.
* A commitment to safety and high standards in environmental and housekeeping duties.
