We're currently seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team on an 18-month fixed-term contract. This role presents an exciting opportunity to support eSmart Networks Financial Controller with a range of reporting duties, as well as supporting with team supervision.

So what will you be going?
As Assistant Accountant, your main duties will involve assisting the Financial Controller and the wider team in managing the daily operations of the Finance Department. The successful candidate will have exposure to a wide range of accounting duties across the department. This will include:
* Assisting the eSmart Finance controller with the production of the monthly management accounts working papers and other reports, including but not limited to:
Fixed Assets/Leases
Prepayment register
Aged Balance Reviews
Employee Loan Reviews
PSA Reporting
Mileage Reporting
CIS Returns
* Reviewing and authorising payments submitted by the team, ensuring all suppliers/subcontractors are reconciled and paid on time.
* Controlling the supplier and subcontractor databases, ensuring adherence to IR35, vat legislations and insurance updates.
* Supervising the purchase ledger function to support all business entities within the group, providing holiday cover when needed and conducting team appraisals and 1 to 1’s.
The Person
We are seeking a focused, self-motivated, and proactive individual with experience working within a similar role, ideally at a supervisor/team leader level.
Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess:
* An understanding of Customer Service and its impact on business.
* Basic knowledge of CIS tax, VAT Domestic Reverse Charge, and IR35, though not essential, is desirable.
* A proactive approach with a hands-on attitude and a "can do" mindset.
* The ability to perform effectively under pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
* Proficiency in Excel and strong general IT skills to facilitate efficient data management and
* Working towards ACCA/CIMA qualifications or already AAT Qualified
