As our team grows, this Principal Engineer role offers the opportunity to work across various sectors within a dynamic team of engineers and technicians.
You will manage civil and structural design delivery on multiple projects, ensuring the team has the necessary skills and resources, and that all work complies with quality and management systems. You will also support change implementation as directed by senior management.
Responsibilities
* Manage daily operations of civil and structural project teams.
* Ensure compliance with company management systems.
* Contribute to the development of department capabilities.
Tasks
* Lead design delivery for large or multiple projects, in single or multi-discipline teams.
* Implement ‘Perfect Delivery’ standards.
* Report project performance to senior management.
* Prepare tenders, including fee estimates.
* Conduct technical reviews of ongoing projects.
* Serve as a technical authority on civil and structural design.
* Encourage innovation and sustainability.
People Development
* Mentor and develop junior engineers.
* Support team members to maximize performance.
Qualifications
* Chartered (or working towards Chartership) Structural Engineer (CEng, MICE, MIStructE).
* Extensive experience in structural engineering.
* CSCS Card.
* Willing to obtain security clearance.
* Full UK driving license.
* Proficient with current civil and structural design codes and standards.
* Experience with CDM and health and safety regulations.
* Deep knowledge of structural design aspects.
* Proven track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
Experience
* Management experience and project leadership.
* Experience in sectors such as aviation (preferably Heathrow/Gatwick).
* Experience dealing directly with clients and contractors.
* Leadership in managing project fees, resources, and change control.
