My Client is recruiting for a Principal Mechanical Engineer in the Water Sector.
Location and Projects
My Client is delivering work in the Thames Valley region (extending from Cirencester in the west to the M25 and from Basingstoke in the South to Banbury in the North). This involves a varied programme of sizable projects in wastewater treatment, clean water production, and infrastructure (Water and Wastewater networks).
Role Overview
As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will contribute to projects that significantly impact our environment and communities. Working primarily in the UK water market, the company provides feasibility, design, construction, and commissioning services to ensure water flows efficiently and wastewater is treated effectively. You will work on projects that improve the environment and communities by enhancing water and wastewater treatment systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and oversee the design, planning, and execution of mechanical engineering aspects of projects.
2. Provide technical expertise and guidance to mechanical engineers and project teams.
3. Mentor and develop junior engineers and team members.
4. Develop mechanical designs for water and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, including P&IDs, valve schedules, pumps, tanks, process equipment, above ground pipework, lifting, and access steelwork.
5. Coordinate with Electrical, Civil, Geotechnical, and Process engineering teams.
6. Ensure applications of client asset standards and participate in technical discussions on best practices and standards waivers.
7. Collaborate with commercial, operational, and construction teams to develop practical and safe solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
8. Engage positively with clients, manage relationships, and support them in achieving their goals.
Requirements
1. Significant experience in the Water Sector.
2. Chartered Mechanical Engineer or higher.
3. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
4. Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices, and standards related to process industries.
5. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
6. Proven ability to manage multiple design tasks and meet deadlines.
