We are looking for a Mental Health Support Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Stroud. This is a rewarding role where you'll work closely with students, staff, and mental health specialists to provide personalised support and encouragement to learners facing emotional challenges.
The Role:
* Provide consistent emotional support to students experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, depression and OCD
* Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, helping them engage with learning and develop self-confidence
* Assist with the delivery of well-being and mental health interventions
* Work alongside teachers, parents, and external professionals to create individual support plans
* Track and review progress to ensure each student is supported effectively
* Foster a positive, safe, and nurturing school environment
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience working with children (essential)
* Experience supporting young people with mental health needs (preferable)
* Safeguarding knowledge/training (essential, or willingness to complete)
* Level 3 qualification required; a degree, ideally in Psychology, is desirable
