Job Title: Combat Systems Engineer – External Communications Location: Frimley, Filton, Portsmouth Broad Oak or Weymouth. Salary: Negotiable depending on experience What you’ll be doing: 1. Support the capture and agreement of technical requirements in line with company and programme processes, interpreting User Needs, Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Concept of Use (CONUSE) to derive functional and technical requirements for external communications systems 2. Review technical solutions against contractual and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance, and support the definition of performance requirements, acceptance criteria and events across the CADMID lifecycle 3. Ensure all design documentation and design change records are generated, captured, configured and controlled in accordance with company processes 4. Support the development and maintenance of Verification Cross-Reference Index (VCRI), Integration, Test, Evaluation and Acceptance Plans (ITEAP) and Qualification Plans 5. Ensure comprehensive design proving evidence is captured within requirements management tools (IBM DOORS) and endorsed at the appropriate authority level, including flow-down of requirements to suppliers and acceptance of their deliverables 6. Provide technical support to shipbuilder installation, integration, commissioning and in-service refit activities, including supplier equipment acceptance and system acceptance by the customer Your skills and experiences: Essential: 7. Proficient understanding of Engineering Principles 8. Have good awareness of Product Safety and SHE 9. Solid communication experience with Stakeholders 10. Demonstratable commitment to continuous professional development and progressing toward Subject Matter Expert Desirable: 11.
