JobSummary:
The purpose ofthe role is to manage subcategories across the category portfolioand collaborate with Directorates/Services and Category Lead tochampion a new best practice commercial approach to external spendin order to deliver value for money outcomes and transform the waysservices are delivered.
You willdevelop and implement robust subcategory strategies for thecategory that optimises performance for the business in terms ofcost quality delivery and responsiveness sharing best practiceguidance for the procurement of the relevant category taking intoconsideration the full supplierlifecycle.
You will be theprimary interface for your subcategories with stakeholdersdeveloping your category and procurements and leading stakeholdersin bestpractices.
KeyDuties/Accountabilities:
Reporting tothe category lead directly you will manage subcategories of spendwhilst leading best practice for your category.
You willimplement the category strategy through proactive management ofprogrammes and projects involving multiple stakeholders and teams.You will deliver robust processes and plans helping implement astage gate procurementprocess.
You willimplement change within your category whilst supporting the widertransformation of the procurementdepartment.
You will play aleading role in providing procurement and commercial advice inrelation to all major and complex contracts in yourcategory.
You will beresponsible for managing risk and ensuring your supply baseperforms as contractually agreed running regular review sessionswith your identified criticalsuppliers.
You will ownand manage the endtoend procurement process within your categorywhilst being the subject matter expert for procurementcompliance.
EssentialExperienceRequired:
Experience inPublic sector procurement (PCR2015) creating new Open Restrictedand ideally DPS and Framework tenders/contracts isessential.
Experienceusing GCloud Govt Marketplace and relatedDPS/Frameworks
Local (orCentral) Govt isessential.
Experienceworking with IT Telecoms FM Transport (Coach/Taxi) Print MarketingCatering isessential.
EssentialQualificationsRequired:
MCIPS qualifiedprocurement professional/working towards MCIPS with significantexperience managing and leading projects isessential.
Additionalinformation tonote:
Working hours:37 hours perweek
The candidatewill be required to be present in Chichester on Mondays to attendteam meetings. There may be a requirement for an extra day onsite.
