Job Description

Ultra Precision Control Systems (Ultra PCS) supports global military and civil customers—including key industry primes such as Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon and Gulfstream—by providing innovative electronic, electro‑mechanical and pneumatic solutions that meet operational, reliability and environmental needs for safety critical and high‑integrity applications.


Key Responsibilities

* Ensure and maintain effective commercial governance in accordance with policies, procedures and processes.
* Support implementation of commercial objectives and effective management of their achievement.
* Implement effective contract management during project lifecycles for the IPT, including customer liaison and relationship management on contractual matters.
* Contribute to the commercial aspects of bids, including drafting terms and conditions and clearance through the bid review process.
* Prepare, review and negotiate agreements (NDAs/PIAs, MoUs, LTAs, agency agreements, PDS, teaming agreements) to protect Ultra’s commercial and financial interests.
* Lead contract negotiations for non‑strategic bids and subcontracts, and support strategic bids and negotiations.
* Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risk throughout the project lifecycle from bid to closure.
* Negotiate and manage bank‑issued bonds and guarantees to mitigate risk and ensure timely return.
* Implement appropriate commercial/contractual arrangements for the delivery of the IPT’s strategic projects and programmes, protecting Ultra’s interests.
* Propose and manage effective arrangements for non‑strategic projects and programmes.
* Maintain the Contracts Register and deliver commercial analysis, reports and briefs, and contribute to senior‑level discussions.
* Ensure commercial integrity of activities through the bid review process, ensuring all business development opportunities meet agreed commercial criteria.
* Support other commercial team members in developing overall commercial awareness across the enterprise.
* Collaborate with the IPT and other functions, sharing ownership and actively supporting resolution strategies, plans and actions.
* Implement strategic decisions, in conjunction with engineering, regarding IP management policies to ensure protection of confidential information.
* Support government contracting price investigations and provide management‑level reports detailing outcomes and action plans.
* Contribute to continuous improvement by supporting the achievement of functional OKRs and developing and maintaining commercial and contracting procedures, policies and templates.


Required Experience

* Minimum of 5 years prior commercial experience in aerospace, defence or a related technology industry, demonstrating all, or substantially all, of the aforementioned responsibilities.
* Well‑organised and confident individual able to take the lead on business issues.
* Previous experience in a customer interface role.
* Ability to identify key areas in contract terms supplied by other parties that would represent significant risk to the company.
* Lateral thinker with commercial awareness, business acumen and an attention to detail while meeting challenging deadlines.
* Confidence with numbers.
* Good communicator—oral and written.
* Ability to liaise effectively with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
* Works effectively in a team.
* Self‑motivated and proactive in managing own work to achieve objectives.
* Uses own initiative within the scope of the role.
* Plans work and delivers on time, re‑planning priorities as needed.
* Demonstrates a high level of integrity and inspires trust.
* Ability to develop solutions to problems.
* Positive “can‑do” attitude, willingness to develop.
* Good application of Microsoft packages and relevant software.

Desirable Skills

* Working experience of US Federal Acquisition Regulations (FARS and DFARS).
* Working experience of US TINA.
* Appreciation of UK and US export control regulations.
* Recognition of contract law.


Qualifications

* Degree in Business or a related subject (essential).
* Post‑graduation commercial certifications (e.g., WCC CCM) (desirable).

Nationality Requirements
