What is the role?
We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our busy Accounts team on an initial 6-month Fixed‑Term Contract. This will be a varied role which will require the role holder to carry out subcontract ledger duties and assist with the purchase ledger accounts. This role reports into the Finance Manager.
What Youll Do As An Accounts Assistant
* Coding and processing of invoices on to coins
* Prepare mid‑month/end of month subcontractor payment runs
* Ensure all CIS and insurance details are correct and updated accordingly
* Maintenance of ledger accounts
* Opening of new supplier accounts in accordance with the Persimmon Plc internal controls
* Working closely with the commercial team
* Any other accounting duties reasonably required by the Finance Manager
What experience do I need?
* Experience in a similar accounting role
* A relevant accounting qualification or working towards one would be beneficial
* Previous experience in the construction industry and dealing with subcontractors would be an advantage but not essential
* Experience of using Microsoft applications especially Excel
* Must be organised, diligent and able to work under pressure
