Life Works Community Ltd, located in Woking, Surrey, is a highly respected private rehabilitation centre specializing in addiction and eating disorder treatment. We treat up to 18 low-risk private patients in a Georgian house surrounded by beautiful gardens. Our location is accessible from the A3, M25, and Woking Train station. Being part of the Priory group, staff benefit from extensive training and CPD opportunities. We also offer 'The Cottage,' a private environment for client treatment.
Our evidence-based programme combines group and individual therapies, including experiential elements, to support individuals on their personal recovery journey.
Position Details
Core shifts: 7.30am-3.30pm and 10am-6pm on a rota basis. Flexible working and part-time options are available.
Reporting to: Head Chef/Cook
You will work with Catering Assistants to ensure patients, staff, and visitors receive tasty, nutritious meals prepared to high standards. You will be supported by an experienced Support Services Manager and collaborate with Maintenance and Housekeeping Teams to support high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Plan, prepare, and cook meals, accommodating special requests and dietary requirements.
2. Take full responsibility for catering operations during shifts in the absence of the Head Chef.
3. Manage stock control, including ordering, checking deliveries, and minimizing wastage.
4. Assist in researching and creating new menus aligned with healthy eating guidelines.
5. Supervise catering staff to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
6. Organize and prioritize work within established procedures, escalating complex issues as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
* City & Guilds or NVQ2 equivalent.
* Preferably Level 3 in Food Hygiene or basic Food Hygiene with plans to attain Level 3.
* Knowledge of food allergens and dietary requirements. (Specialist dietary training will be provided.)
