About the Role
In this role, you will design, coordinate, and deliver engaging social, recreational, therapeutic, and person-centred activity programmes for our residents. You will help enhance residents’ quality of life, promote social interaction, and support their physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
The ideal candidate should be creative, compassionate, patient, and organised, with the ability to adapt activities to meet individual needs, abilities, and personal preferences within a care home setting.

Key Responsibilities for our Activities Coordinators
* Assist residents in all aspects of their daily activity programme, ensuring inclusive participation and engagement.
* Promote creative strategies to enhance cognitive stimulation and meaningful engagement.
* Observe care planning needs for residents and complete written daily records, ensuring accurate documentation in line with CQC standards and care regulations.
* Assist in developing and delivering a structured programme of social, recreational, and therapeutic activities, interacting with residents and helping them continue with hobbies and activities in the Care Home.
* Escort residents travelling to and from the Care Home to activities and community outings, ensuring safety and dignity at all times.
* Provide risk assessments in conjunction with nursing staff for levels of activity and outings, ensuring compliance with health and safety policies.
* Report immediately to the Home Manager, or person in charge, any significant incident, safeguarding concern, or health and safety risk.
* Understand, and ensure the implementation of, the Care Home’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
* Promote safe working practice within the Care Home.
* Promote and maintain the good reputation of the Care Home through professional conduct and positive engagement with residents and families.
* Organise entertainers as required in line with needs of the residents.
* Formulate individual social enrichment plans for each resident, working collaboratively with the care team, relatives and residents.
* Support the home in fundraising initiatives to enhance residents’ social activities beyond allocated budgets.
* Produce appropriate marketing materials, social media content, and community engagement updates with support from the Home Manager to promote care home activities and resident wellbeing programmes.
Required Skills & Experience
* Genuine interest in working within a caring environment
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

* Satisfactory enhanced DBS check
* Satisfactory Right to Work in the UK (must be maintained)
