We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Watford, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about helping pupils with additional needs succeed academically and socially.
The school has a well-established SEN provision and a nurturing environment. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to provide targeted 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with SEN
* Assist with academic tasks, social skills, and communication development
* Implement strategies from EHCPs and individual support plans
* Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
* Support the pupil during lessons, transitions, and playtimes
* Monitor, record, and report progress to teachers and SENCO
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and support staff
* Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times
