Overview
Chelmsford College is seeking to employ an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher of the Deaf to work within our (INSPIRE) SEND Provision supporting a number of learners with hearing impairment on our vocational courses. This fixed-term post is until 30th June 2026, part-time (18 hours per week, 38 weeks per year). Salary is between £31,185 and £40,267 per annum (FTE).
This post is term-time only and subject to enhanced DBS checks. Salary will be dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.
Responsibilities
* Assess the needs of learners with hearing impairment and develop appropriate support plans.
* Adapt and create appropriate materials and devise strategies to support learners' needs.
* Deliver individual and small group teaching with deaf students and support academic teams and other staff to understand the needs of deaf learners through appropriate training.
* Work with students who have EHCPs; awareness of other SEND conditions will be advantageous.
Qualifications and experience
* Applications are welcome from candidates who hold QTS and a Teacher of the Deaf qualification and Level 3 BLS or above.
* Experience of working with students with EHCPs; awareness of other SEND conditions is advantageous.
* This post is fixed-term and is term-time only.
