St James' Catholic High School is recruiting for a Clerk to the Governing Body.
A brief outline of the role includes (but will not be entirely limited to):
* Requirements of a Clerk - You will need a strong understanding of both the statutory and Diocesan requirements of the role (Mandatory).
* Liaison with Headteacher PA - This would include: arranging calendared meetings, ensuring all required meeting expectations are in place, share minutes, ensure effective record keeping etc.
* Clerk Committee Meetings - We currently have 1 Full and 4 Sub-Committee meetings each term. These historically have started at 6.30pm (to be confirmed this year) and are approximately two hours and one hour in duration respectively. We also have two other meetings that take place annually and during the school day for: Admissions and Staff Pay Review.
* Clerk at Complaints and Exclusion Meetings - You would be required to pull a panel (from governors) together for this and be present as clerk. There is not a high frequency of these, and probably would average out to one a half term. As indicated above, a clear understanding of the requirements of these meetings.
This is a paid position and you would be remunerated for both time in attendance and for administrative work outside of this time (to be agreed if successfully appointed).
