Agricultural Catching Manager
Job Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Agricultural Catching Manager to lead and coordinate our poultry catching operations. You will manage a team of poultry catchers and HGV drivers, ensuring birds are caught, handled, and transported efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of health & safety, bird welfare, and biosecurity.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise poultry catching teams and HGV drivers.
* Plan and coordinate daily catching schedules across multiple farms.
* Ensure birds are caught, handled, and transported safely and humanely.
* Maintain compliance with health & safety, welfare, and biosecurity standards.
* Liaise with farm managers and production teams to ensure smooth operations.
* Monitor team performance and provide training and support.
* Ensure equipment, vehicles, and modules are used and maintained correctly.
* Complete operational documentation and report any issues promptly.
Working Hours
* Monday–Thursday, typically 02:00–14:00
* Minimum 40 hours per week
* Flexibility required during busy periods and festive demand.
* Role involves early starts, outdoor work, and physical activity.
Requirements
Essential
* Experience in poultry catching, livestock handling, or agricultural operations
* Team leadership experience
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Knowledge of health & safety, bird welfare, and biosecurity standards
* Full UK driving licence
Desirable
* Experience managing HGV drivers
* CPC or Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH)
* Experience supporting compliance or welfare audits
