Job Title: Personal Advisor Leaving Care (16+)
Location: Havering
Term: Temporary, initially 3 months with the possibility of extension
Rate: 23.27 PAYE
Hybrid: 3 days in the office
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Our client is seeking a dedicated Personal Advisor Leaving Care to join their dynamic team. This role offers a competitive salary of £23.27 per hour for 36 hours per week, with the opportunity to support up to 25 young individuals.
Helping young people transition from local authority care to independent adult life, offering practical, emotional, and educational guidance on housing, jobs, finances, and well-being until age 25, ensuring they have a plan and support to build successful independent lives.
Build Meaningful Relationships: Establish rapport with young people, actively listen, and communicate effectively. Advocate on their behalf, ensuring complex information is clear and accessible.
Recognise and Respond to Risk: Understand the impact of trauma and offer non-judgemental support. Maintain professional boundaries to help young people lead safe and happy lives.
Problem Solving & Decision Making: Assess individual needs, identify risks, set realistic goals, and guide young people towards positive outcomes, especially in challenging situations.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning: Developing a Pathway Plan with the young person, covering future goals.
Housing: Helping find safe, suitable accommodation and offering support to stay with foster carers if desired.
Education & Employment: Assisting with training, further education, job searching, and interview skills.
Financial Literacy: Teaching day-to-day money management and accessing benefits.
Well-being: Promoting physical and mental health, building relationships, and ensuring stability.
Liaison: Connecting the young person with other services (health, education, DWP).
Advocacy: Encouraging their views and ensuring their rights are me
