Fourways Whitchurch are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join their small, friendly, and fast-paced team based in Shropshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity to provide accounting support to the Financial Controller by maintaining the purchase ledger and bank accounts on sage within Fourways, which is part of Lookers Motor Group.
Here at Fourways, you will work closely with the Financial Controller on all aspects of the accounts, while receiving on-going support to ensure you have the tools needed to succeed in your role.
Responsibilities
This is a broad role covering Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Bank as well as various month end tasks. Tasks include but not limited to:
1. Posting invoices, supplier payments, customer receipts, non-supplier/customer transactions and employee expense claims onto sage
2. Prepare monthly payment run for review ensuring all supplier payments are kept up to date and reconcile month end balances to supplier statements
3. Assist with credit control as required
4. Run and distribute bank statements, check daily bank payments and upload payments to the Bank and EchoSign to be authorised as required
5. Complete Daybooks reconciliations between Foursky and Sage, agree group purchase ledger balances at year end and half year end to meet reporting deadlines, and gather information for submission to the external auditors
6. Other Adhoc tasks as required by the Assistant Financial Controller
Qualifications
We would love to welcome on board a recent university graduate who is ready to take their first steps into the world of finance. Don't worry no prior accounts experience is required, we can teach you everything you need to know! However, we would also be super keen to talk to current 'Accounts Assistants'.
There are lots of training opportunities available to accompany this role too. Keen to pursue professional Accounting qualifications? We can certainly support you through your progression with Fourways.
We are looking for an individual with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. Great attention to detail would also be fantastic as well as experience in using Excel.
